Tamper Resistant Printing Rx Solution – New Interface Menu

New Interface Menu for Tamper Resistant Printing Rx Solution

Plus Technologies has released a New, Simple, and Easy to Use Calibration Interface Menu/Process for the Universal Tamper Resistant Printing Rx solution.

Enterprise Tamper Resistant Prescription Printing solutions require printers to be calibrated to ensure the CMS compliant tamper resistant features like ‘Void’ Pantograph, Verification Grid Pattern, micro print and more, render correctly. This can require a lengthy trial and error process across different printer vendors/models, involving fiddling with various ‘Void’ pantograph resolution files, toner densities, comparing copies, and more. For organizations with many printers, this process is a big concern.

Plus Technologies’ new browser based, calibration interface menu streamlines the calibration into a simple 3 step process.

  1. Print calibration sheet.
    • From our new Calibration Interface Menu a user selects/prints a one page calibration sheet.
  2. Answer 3 simple questions about the calibration sheet.
    • User clicks on corresponding buttons in Menu to answer questions.
  3. Save calibration settings.
    • Settings are centrally saved for individual printers so our solution successfully renders Rx prints across the fleet.

My-Print-Delivery to Support HP Devices with Version 1.6 Firmware

OM Plus My-Print-Delivery (MPD) uses the HP OXPd (Open Extensibility Platform for devices) development environment. Applications developed using OXPd support devices with 1.7 level firmware and up. 1.6 level firmware may not have all the routines needed to support OXPd applications.
However, OM Plus pull-print solution (MPD) has been modified to support 1.6 level devices as well as 1.7. This is significant for HP users with older HP devices in their fleet.
This version of MPD is currently in QA and should be available for test and deployment soon.

Imprivata Certification

Plus Technologies has joined the Imprivata Development Partner program and utilized the Imprivata Print Connector API to establish connectivity between Imprivata OneSign® and OM Plus My-Print-Delivery print release software. The combined solution combines the convenience and cost-savings of Plus Technologies’ user-initiated print release (pull-print) solution called My-Print-Delivery (MPD) with the speed and security of Imprivata OneSign authentication. By certifying MPD with OneSign, Plus Technologies’ MPD software can authenticate a user from the Imprivata database. This feature differentiates Plus Technologies’ MPD from all other pull-print solutions in the market.

The need for secure printing is growing, especially in healthcare environments where the confidentiality of patient health information is not only paramount to a provider’s reputation, but also a regulatory requirement of HIPAA. The combination of the Plus Technologies and Imprivata solutions enables organizations to provide better security, confidentiality, and compliance, by reducing the risk of printed documents being left unattended at the printer. It also provides operational efficiencies by maintaining centralized control of user authentication.
