Kroger Extends Licensing of OM Plus

OM Plus, Plus Technologies, Output Management, KrogerKroger Extends Licensing of OM Plus Print Software

Kroger has recently increased licensing of its OM Plus print spooling software. Kroger uses OM Plus in its cold food warehouses to manage a custom label printing application. Plus Technologies has developed this custom printing application that makes ‘wrap-around’ labels for Kroger so that fork-lift drivers can see the labels on two sides of the palettes. This is very helpful when multiple palettes are stacked side-by-side and labels are obscured.

OM Plus also provides an enhanced workflow for the documents created in Kroger’s core business system. Based on user defined criteria, OM Plus identifies the documents that require the special wrap-around label solution. OM Plus then separates them from the other documents, and submits them to the wrap-around label workflow process. This special workflow includes creation of the “special” label, delivery to the printers, print confirmation, load balancing, and automated fail-over. This is done to maximize productivity.

Plus Technologies Renews SAP Certification

Plus Technologies, SAP, SAP PartnerPlus Technologies Renews SAP Certification

The SAP API for output management software is constantly evolving and changing, which impacts how 3rd party solutions connect and interact. As a result, every few years SAP requires its partners to re-certify their solutions in order to ensure their 3rd party partners are up to date.

Plus Technologies recently completed its 2016 version of this certification with the SAP BC-XOM interface. Also, some tweaks had to be made to the existing OM Plus Delivery Manager (DM) print spooler software SAP interface to comply with the latest version. In addition, these changes had to be tested and verified by SAP before re-certification was successfully granted.
Much praise and thanks to Rich Gray and the development team for completing this task. The new version of SAP interface is currently available for distribution.

Intelligent Routing and Distribution

Intelligent Routing and Distribution; Context Delivery Manager (CDP)

A sometimes overlooked feature of OM Plus Delivery Manager (DM) system is Context Delivery Manager (CDP). This feature is packaged as an optional module to the OM Plus Delivery Manager print software product. In addition, it is still garnering significant interest from our customers. First, CDP looks at the ‘context” of a print job. Then CDP allows the end user to define “business rules” based on documents that meet the criteria. For example, CDP can look for combinations of factors to identify specific documents; such as words in the title, the end user, the system the document was created on, the printer to which it is to be delivered, the number of pages in a document, time of day, and/or text within the document.

Based on finding qualified documents the end user can set up specific business rules related to the delivery of the job such as: re-route to a different destination, not print at all, delivery to an ecm system for later viewing conversion into different formats, send a copy via email, and much more. Moreover, using CD Plus in this way can streamline business processes and reduce print costs.

OM Plus Delivery Manager Print Spooler Management Software

OM Plus Delivery Manager (DM) is advanced and intelligent print spooler management software. DM seamlessly ingests jobs from multiple systems and delivers them to printers, multi-function devices, fax software, email systems, and more. Rarely, changes are needed to existing ERP/EMR systems. OM Plus print spooler management software features include: print confirmation, re-printing, re-routing, automated fail-over, load balancing, bundling, re-sequencing, and much more.

OM Plus – PrinterLogic Integration

Plus Technologies’ OM Plus – PrinterLogic Integration

Plus Technologies and PrinterLogic have built a “connector” for integration.

PrinterLogic’s front-end printer and driver management platform and OM Plus Delivery Manager (DM) will work together seamlessly.

PrinterLogic delivers centrally managed direct IP printing in a Windows print environment and allows end users to install their own printers, drastically reducing print-related help desk costs. While PrinterLogic addresses common issues associated with front-end printing, it is not typically used to address ‘back-end’ printing such as ERP, EMR, or accounting systems. OM Plus DM is optimized and integrated into for back-end environments. By implementing both solutions (now that they work together seamlessly) customers can solve important output management, driver, print server, and other print related issues in both environments. We believe this integration provides a very strong solution. Moreover we believe that it is superior to alternatives in the market including those provided by LRS and Nuance.

More Customers Select Managed Print Software

Plus Technologies has received strong interest in its Managed Print Software. Our Managed Print Software is OM Plus Fleet Manager (FM). Sales continue as FM was selected as the managed print tool of choice by multiple MPS providers in the month of March. FM orders this past month were received from customers located in the US and overseas and customers will utilize the hosted (SaaS) version of the FM product.
FM will be used to collect meters required for ‘per page based’ billing and FM will provide detailed statistics on mono print, color print, copy, fax, and scan usage to help MPS providers optimize the users fleet. In addition, FM will be used to help manage consumables. Also, FM will be used to provide real time alerts on printer issues.
