Municipal Government Purchases OM Plus

Municipal Government, OM Plus, Plus TechnologiesMunicipal Government Purchases OM Plus

A Municipal Government in Arizona has purchased OM Plus Delivery Manager (DM). This County Government utilizes high speed Ricoh Pro printers to batch print large print jobs. However, they needed a tool that could ‘hold’ the print jobs and allow an operator to manually release those jobs. In their current environment they did not have the ability to do that.

By using OM Plus DM this customer can seamlessly ingest the large print jobs from their application servers. Following, the OM Plus print software system will hold the print jobs. Moreover, the user friendly OM Plus UI is available to operators next to the high speed Ricoh printers. When the operator is ready to release the print job to the high speed device they can release it and direct it from the OM Plus UI.

Print Software Company makes case for Print Servers

Print Software Company makes case for Print Servers

Recently, a software company focused in the print management space released a White Paper discussing the merits of utilizing ‘print servers.’ We felt this was a timely and relevant paper as there are some print software companies that promote getting rid of print servers entirely. We understand that there are some cases where eliminating “Windows print servers” may be desirable. However, in most cases we believe a ‘print server’ architecture makes the most sense for print spooling software. Especially for output created by back-end systems such as ERP, EMR, accounting systems, and other corporate back-end systems.

What is a print server’s main function and how can it be improved?

Giving Thanks on Thanksgiving

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, Thanksgiving, Thanks, Giving Thanks, Plus Technologies

Giving Thanks on Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is this Thursday and as the Nation takes the day off we acknowledge what we are thankful for. As a company Plus Technologies is thankful for all our hardworking employees. In addition, Plus Technologies is very thankful for our customers and partners. A special thank you goes out to our service members who could not make it home for the holiday.

In 1789 George Washington proclaimed Thanksgiving a public holiday in the United States. For the next 74 years, Thanksgiving was celebrated by individual colonies and states. In 1863 Abraham Lincoln made Thanksgiving into a federal holiday. During the Civil War Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national day of “Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens.”
Since 1863 Thanksgiving has been celebrated on the last Thursday in November. In 1621, the “First Thanksgiving” took place when the Plymouth Colonists and the Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn harvest.

OM Plus for Warehouse Management System (WMS)

OWarehouse Management System, WMS, OM Plus, Output Management, Plus TechnologiesM Plus Print Software for Warehouse Management System (WMS)

A 14 Billion dollar supply chain organization, based in Germany, has ordered another OM Plus print management software system. This customer will use the OM Plus print software for their Warehouse Management System. Duplicate and missing labels in distribution centers and warehouses can be a problem. However, OM Plus can prevent this. Moreover, in the case of label printer failure the OM Plus system will automatically fail-over a backup device and notify IT. This is done so that the production lines can keep running and shipments can continue to be made on time. In addition, OM Plus will load balance print jobs across multiple devices to increase throughput in peak times. Furthermore, shipping documents will be ‘bundled’ or ‘kitted’ in groups in order to ensure that proper sequencing is maintained. In order to increase productivity, documents (based on ‘triggers’) will be intelligently redirected to the optimal printer.

Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans; and Plus Technologies takes time today to thank each and every service member and their families. Thank you for your service.

Recently the U.S. Military has been using OM Plus.
