Plus Technologies Supports Local Charities

Plus Technologies Supports Local Charities, OM Plus, Casual fund, donations, donate, charity

Plus Technologies Supports Local Charities

Throughout the year associates at Plus Technologies may choose to dress casual Monday through Thursday. By paying $1.00 per day towards our casual fund, one can dress in casual clothes. Towards the end of the calendar year we use our casual fund to help support local charities in our community.

On Memorial Day weekend the Dayton area was ravaged by 17 tornados – many homes and businesses were destroyed or damaged. Plus Technologies donated cases of water and basic hygiene supplies to Matthew Ministries for the Dayton tornado victims. They had a center at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds where people could come and pick up survival type kits with water, snacks, and personal hygiene items until they could get placed.

Plus Technologies also donated to Brigid’s Path. Brigid’s Path is a newborn recovery center for babies that are born to addicted mothers. We donated money and they used it to buy supplies, like clothing for babies’ baby care items and personal hygiene products for the moms.

In addition, Plus Technologies donated to St Vincent DePaul: Donated socks, hats, gloves, hand sanitizer and personal care items to be given to people that come into their center that are homeless.

Logistics and Warehouse Printing

Logistics and Warehouse Printing, Plus Technologies' Logistics Solutions, OM Plus, Output Management

Logistics and Warehouse Printing

Plus Technologies solutions streamline and improve productivity in logistics – distribution print environments. To maximize efficiency in these environments organizations must be able to reliably print pick tickets, invoices, labels, bills of lading and other documents. In many cases documents have to be combined or re-ordered for inclusion in a shipment. Documents should not be printed twice or missed. The ability to restart print jobs at a specific page is very important as well. In addition to maximize throughput load balancing jobs across multiple devices is an important capability. Automated failover upon print failure also helps maintain uptime on the line.

Logistics services are often managed by automated and integrated order processing and inventory control systems. Orders are processed upon receipt, and they ship within 24 hours. In other words, logistic systems need to be reliable to fulfill the promise of fast, accurate shipping of your products to anywhere in the world.

New Versions of OM Plus Delivery Manager and My-Print-Delivery

New Versions of OM Plus Delivery Manager (DM) and My-Print-Delivery (MPD), OM Plus, Plus Technologies, Output Management, MPD, DM

New Versions of OM Plus Delivery Manager (DM) and My-Print-Delivery (MPD)

New versions of OM Plus Delivery Manager (DM) and My-Print-Delivery (MPD) print software are in development and are coming soon. Plus Technologies’ software engineers are nearly finished significant enhancements to Delivery Manager (DM) and My-Print-Delivery (MPD).

Delivery Manager is a market leading output management software solution that routes print jobs from the source system all the way to the printer tray and adds numerous value add features along the way. Features such as load balancing, automated failover, intelligent/context based routing, print confirmation, error notification, statistics and more.

My-Print-Delivery is Plus Technologies’ pull-print (sometimes called print release) solution. MPD allows end user print jobs to be held by the MPD system. MPD then routes the jobs to the printer once the user is identified and authenticated. A major benefit of MPD is the integration with back-end systems like EMR’s (eg Epic, Cerner), ERP’s (SAP, Oracle),  WMS, and Single Sign-on (eg Imprivata)  systems for the delivery of print jobs created by those systems.

These new releases are expected to be completed in the next month and will provide significant enhancements in the following areas.

  • DM installation improvements
  • MPD configuration simplification
  • Improved card reader integration
  • Enhanced security with support for TLS 1.2
  • Adding more print statistics
  • MPD application for Ricoh
  • Changes to support Lexmark esf application changes

Pull-Print – Server vs Workstation Based Architecture

Pull-Print - Server vs Workstation Based Architecture, OM Plus, My-Print-Delivery, MPD, Output Management, Plus TechnologiesPull-Print – Server vs Workstation Based Architecture

There are many pull-print solutions (also called print release) in the marketplace. The vendors of these solutions claim very similar capabilities but upon closer inspection there are critical differences. As a prospective buyer of pull-print one significant difference to explore is the architecture of the solution. Does the solution require a software install on every end user workstation – or is the solution server based.

Significant Advantages to MPD

We think there are significant advantages to having a server based pull-print solution like OM Plus My-Print-Delivery (MPD). Server based solutions like MPD typically have better integrations with key ERP’s (like SAP), EMR’s (like Epic), Single Sign-on Apps (like Imprivata). Without the integrations to back end systems like these it can be difficult for workstation based pull print systems to get the end user name or ID’s needed to release documents at the printer.

Pull-Print with My-Print-Delivery (MPD)

Pull-Print with OM Plus My-Print-Delivery (MPD), OM Plus, My-Print-Delivery, MPD, Output Management, Plus TechnologiesPull-Print with OM Plus My-Print-Delivery (MPD)

OM Plus My-Print-Delivery (MPD) pull-print software is Plus Technologies solution for pull printing. This pull-print solution is also known by other names. Names such as: print release, pull-print, follow-me, or find-me printing. The idea behind the concept is to improve printing efficiencies by holding user documents in the print system until the user releases the document while physically at the printer or multifunction device itself. There are many benefits for implementing OM Plus MPD such as: saving pages printed, reducing toner consumption and cost, and increasing document security.

Pull-print works by allowing the user to print documents through their usual print experience. Thus there is no change to the user. The document is routed to OM Plus My-Print-Delivery (MPD) where the job is held in OM Plus. When the user is ready to print they go to the device of their choice, swipe their card, pass authentication, and then MPD routes the job to the printer. This process ensures no print jobs/documents are left unattended.

My-Print-Delivery (MPD) is a superior solution because of its integrations. These integrations allow the user name data to be passed through seamlessly from EMR’s such Epic, ERP’s such as SAP, Oracle and others and Single Sign-n Solutions such as Imprivata.

In addition, MPD does not require any installation on end user workstations like other systems. This makes MPD simpler and easier to install and maintain.
