March 20, 2021, Dayton, Ohio – Plus Technologies, an industry leader for providing enterprise printing solutions, has announced changes to support FIPS compliance standards in the encryption methodology of its OM Plus suite of products.

FIPS or Federal Information Process Standards are specifications that act in accordance with the Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002 (FISMA) and the Federal Information Security Modernization Act of 2014 (FISMA2014).

FIPS standards are published by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) with the permission of the Secretary of Commerce. In accordance with the Information Technology Management Reform Act, federal security and interoperability standards are set.

The volume of Plus Technologies customers directly and indirectly involved in federal government warranted adding this standard to OM Plus.

Data passed in OM Plus has always been secure and encrypted. Now, customers can experience even more protection with the added security of FIPS encryption.
