Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission in Washington state approves OM Plus Prescription Printing Solution28 Sep, 2018
September 28, 2018, Dayton, Ohio –Plus Technologies is very happy to announce their highly popular Tamper Resistant Rx Printing solution, OM Plus TRP, has been approved by the Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission in the State of Washington. This development enables Plus Technologies to expand its prescription printing on plain paper solution to healthcare organizations in the Washington state market.
By state law, all medication prescriptions written by licensed practitioners for tamper-resistant prescription paper or pads must be reviewed and approved by the Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission. Over 80% of other states only require the features recommended by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS.) Unlike CMS standards, additional guidelines must be met to allow prescription printing in Washington state. The prescription printing solution from Plus Technologies exceeds both those standards.
“We are excited to introduce our Rx prescription printing solution to health care organizations in Washington state,” said Mike Visser, President, Plus Technologies.
Printing prescriptions often involve investing and implementing specialized printers with expensive locking trays, the purchase of costly pre-printed forms and costly and time-consuming security processes. The Rx prescription printing solution from Plus Technologies replaces the need for expensive implementations with software that uses pantograph and micro-print technologies to allow tamper resistant prescriptions to be printed on plain paper. The savings from this solution are significant.
The solution works with many EMR applications including Epic, Cerner, Mckesson, Allscripts, Meditech, NextGen, eClinicalWorks, Sorian, SMS, GE Centricity, Amazing Charts, Mosaiq, MedHost/HMS, e-MDs, others.
Many customers utilize the Rx prescription printing solution from Plus Technologies. Some of those customers include Wellmont Health Systems, Mississippi Baptist Health, Kaiser Permanente, St. Luke’s Health Systems, Parkland Health Systems, Southern Illinois Health, University of Maryland Medical Center, Bronson Health, Broward Health, and Baptist Health Arkansas.
