How Does Dir2Email work?

Dir2Email (Direct 2 Email) addresses the issue of low patient portal adoption rates with a managed process that automatically sends copies of portal information directly to patients via secure email. This does not affect the availability of their portal, or information held there.

  1. To get started, a patient agrees to receive their information via email and provides a valid email address. 
  2. The available documents, for a given encounter, are sent to Dir2Email where the documents are attached to a single email with the patient’s name inserted into the body, giving it a personal touch.
  3. The email is sent from the organization’s address with a configurable ‘subject line’. Patients are more likely to open and read through the message when they discover it is coming from a reliable, legitimate, and trusted source.
  4. All outgoing email messages are securely encrypted and compliant with HIPAA, PHI and other security requirements.
