Native print spoolers such as those found in Windows do not provide advanced functionality and scalability. The Windows print spooler is also prone to errors, loss of jobs, and services that need to restarted in order to continue operation. Features like page level restart, automated failover to alternate devices, print confirmation, true load balancing, notification of alerts, and document bursting or bundling are not included or available.
