Hewlett-Packard Acquires Printer Division from Samsung

Last quarter, HP’s toner revenue fell 18% from the prior year and printer hardware fell 10% from the prior year. Overall, industry experts reported printed pages barely dropped at all (less than 1%) from last year. According to industry analysts, HP toner revenue declined as HP attempted to reduce its toner inventory. HP device revenue fell as they dropped some lower end models from their portfolio.

As a further commitment to the print industry, HP has agreed to acquire the printer division from Samsung for $1.05 Billion. This means that HP will now provide printers with Canon and Samsung engines.
