Epic Migration Creates New Prescription Printing Requirements

The solution replaced traditional pre-printed prescription forms and locking printer trays with an electronic approach that allows prescriptions to be securely printed on plain paper. This modernized architecture simplified administration while maintaining the security controls required for prescription printing.
The OM Plus solution leverages the Epic Print API architecture to receive and process prescription print jobs generated by Epic.
Supporting Thousands of Prescription Print Queues
The initial implementation supported more than 2,200 prescription print queues across the healthcare system. As the organization continued to grow and expand its Epic deployment, the environment also expanded significantly.
Today, the OM Plus solution supports more than 4,200 prescription print queues, demonstrating both the scalability of the platform and the customer’s ongoing confidence in the solution.

The healthcare provider selected the Plus Technologies subscription licensing model, which includes 24×7 support coverage. This approach provides predictable costs while ensuring access to technical expertise whenever needed.
Visibility Through Print Analytics
In addition to prescription printing, the customer utilizes OM Plus Stats Manager to gain visibility into prescription printing activity across the enterprise.
With Stats Manager, administrators can monitor printing volumes, identify usage trends, and analyze how many prescription documents are being printed across thousands of queues and devices throughout the organization.
