Plus Tech’s has recently added CAC release as another method to its OM Plus My Print delivery (MPD) solution. OMP MPD was tested and passed a CAC test.

CAC is the Common Access Card, also colloquially referred to as the CAC (often called CAC card). CAC is a smart card about the size of a credit card. It is the standard identification for active-duty military personnel, Selected Reserve, United States Department of Defense (DoD) civilian employees, and eligible contractor personnel. It is also the principal card used to enable physical access to buildings and controlled spaces, and it provides access to defense computer networks and systems. It also serves as an identification card under the Geneva Conventions (esp. the Third Geneva Convention). The CAC satisfies two-factor authentication: something that belongs to the user, and something only known to the user. CAC also covers the bases for digital signature and data encryption technology: authentication, integrity and non-repudiation.

OM Plus My Print Delivery (MPD) software is Plus Technologies software solution for “pull printing”. This solution is also referred to as print release, pull printing, Follow the User style print. The solution is designed to improve printing efficiencies by holding print jobs in the print system until the user releases the document while physically at the printer or multi-function device itself.

Other methods of print release with OMP MPD include:

  • Smartphone: Users can select the OM Plus MPD App on their cell phone.
  • Printer/MFD: Users can select the OM Plus MPD App embedded on selected printers/MFD’s.
  • Card Swipe: By swiping their card on specific badge readers for direct MPD printing.
  • Release Workstation: Users can use OM Plus MPD feature on dedicated release workstations.
