Output Software Solves Problem for Largest US Grocery Retailer

OM Plus Delivery Manager (DM) is being utilized by the US’s largest food retailer in their cold storage warehousing.
Delivery trucks arrive at a cold storage warehouse with food items in bulk. These items need to be split into store shipments and repacked for their individual stores. In this process, pallets are loaded onto the receiving area floor of the Distribution Center. Then customized labels are placed on the pallets so drivers know which truck needs to receive the pallet.

OM Plus Delivery Manager (DM) Solution

This is when OM Plus Delivery Manager streamlines the process by seamlessly receiving the output from a home-grown system. The OM Plus software then manipulates the data to support a customized label without change to the source application, delivering the data to the appropriate high speed label bar-code printer based on data within the document output, failing the print over to a backup printer in the case of failure, and confirming that printing occurred properly, as well as emailing critical error notifications based on defined timeouts or events.
The custom label is a wrap-around label that shows on 2 sides of each pallet so forklift drivers better see the label. This speeds up the process increasing productivity and the flow of goods. The printer load balancing and fail-over technology keeps the system running so down-time is minimized.
