Plus Technologies and Lexmark Awarded Large Rx Printing Contract
Plus Technologies’ partner Lexmark has won a Managed Print Services (MPS) contract at a large South Carolina healthcare organization. A key requirement of the contract is the provisioning of tamper resistant print software for prescription (Rx) printing on 1,250 plain paper printers. By using plain paper instead of pre-printed forms the customer is able to save a significant amount of cost while retaining the security features required for Rx.
Plus Technologies will be providing the tamper resistant software required for this project with its OM Plus TRP system. The Plus Technologies’ software beat out a competitive solution from Troy as the print quality of the Plus Technologies’ software on the Lexmark devices was superior.
In this environment, the OM Plus software ingests output from the customer’s Epic EMR system, parses it, applies the tamper resistant pantograph and micro-print features and delivers the finished print job to the appropriate printers. OM Plus also converses bi-directionally with the printers to confirm the print occurred properly and the documents are in the output tray.
By teaming up in this project, Lexmark and Plus Technologies were able to differentiate the solution from competition. Thus securing the bid.

OM Plus Tamper-Resistant-Print (TRP)
OM Plus TRP provides an alternative to expensive pre-printed forms by providing tamper resistant printing on plain paper. TRP can take data streams directly from ERP/EMR systems, parse the necessary data, merge it with tamper resistant technology, and deliver it to popular laser printers stocked with plain paper.
