US Federal Government Agency Selects OM Plus

OM Plus Delivery Manager (DM) (print management) and Fleet Manager (FM) software was selected by a large US federal government agency to help manage their mixed fleet of print devices.

The print fleet includes many hundreds of devices spread across multiple locations. Also, it consists mostly of Lexmark and HP printers and multifunction printers.

Plus Technologies will be providing output management capabilities by tying into the organization’s back office systems and routing jobs (workflow) to the appropriate printer. The software allows the customer to set rules that can define the end users rights and privileges when using the system increasing compliance and security. The print software also provides comprehensive print job reporting that captures the who, what, when and where of what was printed.

Pull-print capabilities across the diverse makes/models of the fleet will be provided by OM Plus My-Print-Delivery (MPD).

With My-Print-Delivery (MPD) users print jobs are held within the OM Plus system – the user physically goes to the printer of their choosing and swipes their badge – MPD will ensure the user is authenticated before routing the job to the printer. Pull print helps compliance, security and cost/toner savings.

Fleet Management capabilities will be provided by OM Plus Fleet Manager (FM).

FM collects printer based data on an ongoing basis to detect usage, toner levels and alerts. These alerts can help technicians solve print related issues before they become major problems. Detailed reports are created that allows the customer to refine printer deployment in order to optimize the fleet and reduce costs.

In this case Plus Technologies will be partnering with Leidos for the system implementation. Leidos, formerly known as Science Applications International Corporation, is an American Defense, Aviation, Information Technology, and Biomedical Research company headquartered in Reston, Virginia, that provides scientific, engineering, systems integration, and technical services.
