OM Stats Manager (SM) is a printing solutions application that enables organizations to analyze and understand the who, what, when, and where of printing, copying, faxing, and scanning in their enterprise.

By collecting print spooling data Stats Manager is able to provide user based print metrics in addition to device based data. This user based metric allows organizations to understand who is printing, what they are printing, when they are printing, what application the documents are coming from, and even the titles of the documents.

Unlike other printing solutions, Stats Manager provides scheduled reports as well as an ad-hoc query capability to enable users to search for the data as they require it.

Iowa Manufacturing Company Implements OM Plus

HWH, a company that manufactures hydraulic jacks has purchased and implemented OM Plus print and output management software to improve its invoicing process.

The software purchased was OM Plus Delivery Manager (DM) which provides advanced routing capability along with the Context Delivery Plus (CDP) module which is used to read the content of the print jobs and make real time decisions on the delivery rules for the print job. In addition, the customer purchased Plus Technologies professional services to customize the OM Plus system to create forms from plain text.

In this case the customer’s ERP system output was a plain text document. OM Plus can take this plain text document and reformat it into an enhanced pdf document and add a watermark for security purposes.

The willingness and ability to customize OM Plus is a major differentiation for Plus Technologies in the output management market.

Plus Technologies Working Through the Coronavirus

With the Coronavirus spreading fast and many businesses being shut down we wanted to reach out to our customers and partners to give an update. Plus Technologies will continue to provide OM Plus software technical support during our normal hours of operation.

We will apply the normal resources and escalation procedures for software technical support incidents and customers can expect the usual response and resolution times for existing incidents. We will continue to work with new customers that acquired our services to help with OM Plus installations.

Plus Technologies is fortunate that much of what our staff does can be done either here at the corporate office or at the employee’s home. As a result, depending on the specific employee circumstance we will have a mix of workers in the office and at home and that our usual level of service will not be impacted.

Plus Technologies has just helped a well known cancer treatment healthcare organization based in NYC that implemented an OM Plus Delivery Manager (print management) and My-Print-Delivery (pull print) solution. This new pull print solution provides document security and substantially reduces the number of required print queues for printing in their new building. Additionally, it reduces system administration efforts as well as the number of printers and associated consumables.

The solution presents users with one pull print queue for laser printers and one pull print queue for label printers for the whole building. Now clinicians can roam the hospital with their mobile devices, meet with patients wherever it is convenient, and submit print jobs as necessary to those two queues. When the clinicians are ready, they can go to any convenient printer and retrieve their jobs with a simple badge tap for authentication. My Print Delivery knows who they are and what printer they are at and releases the print jobs at the appropriate printer.
This simple secure pull print solution provides security for the print jobs and removes the need for users to remember the names of the various printers throughout the building. It protects patient information and privacy by only printing the documents when users are physically at the printer. The solution ingests print jobs from multiple applications including Epic, Allscripts, Forms on Demand, and more. It manages both back-end and front-end print workflows, which enables the appropriate print jobs to be printed through the same secure pull print process.
The pull print solution is integrated with Imprivata’s digital identity solution API. It accesses the existing name and badge database information utilized for clinician login at workstations or mobile devices and uses it for pull print authentication. This results in one less place to build and maintain user and badge information.
This solution also provides print management capabilities for immediate printing, centralized administration, a robust helpdesk toolset, and more. Also, via OM Plus Stats Manager, it collects and analyzes the who, what, when and where information about print usage which is used for auditing and fleet optimization.

Mobile devices are becoming increasingly commonplace in today’s workforce. As more companies adopt these new devices, there is a greater need for advanced print functionality and security.

Plus Technologies has tested and approved a 3rd party application that allows printing from mobile devices. By integrating with OM Plus Delivery Manager print software, mobile users can now experience seamless end to end delivery and control of print jobs sent from devices such as, tablets and smartphones.

From an ease of use standpoint OM Plus Mobile Device Print provides a very simple and intuitive print experience. The application can be installed on a device in less than a minute and supports the most popular platforms including iOS, Android, ChromeOS, and Windows 10 based devices.

When the users sends a print job from their mobile device, a user ID can be assigned and authenticated before the job is sent on to a Windows print server. Next, OM Plus seamlessly ingests the print job from the Windows print server where advanced routing and deliver options can be applied. HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) is the leading health information and technology conference in the United States. This conference brings together 45,000+ professionals to discuss IT solutions for the healthcare industry.

Plus Technologies will attend this year’s event in Orlando, Florida (March 9-13) as we have in past years. We will be available to meet and discuss our healthcare solutions at multiple booths.

In particular, our secure pull print solution referred to as, My-Print-Delivery (MPD), will be shown at the Imprivata booth #3541. It will highlight our integration with their access management solution for pull print, card tap authentication. Pull printing enables users to submit jobs to an enterprise pull print queue that holds their jobs until they walk up to an enabled printer, authenticate, and release their jobs. This enables users to utilize the same card tap methodology to get their print jobs as they use to login to various workstations/applications. Throughout the year associates at Plus Technologies may choose to dress casual Monday through Thursday. By paying $1.00 per day towards our casual fund, one can dress in casual clothes. Towards the end of the calendar year we use our casual fund to help support local charities in our community.

On Memorial Day weekend the Dayton area was ravaged by 17 tornados – many homes and businesses were destroyed or damaged. Plus Technologies donated cases of water and basic hygiene supplies to Matthew Ministries for the Dayton tornado victims. They had a center at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds where people could come and pick up survival type kits with water, snacks, and personal hygiene items until they could get placed.

Plus Technologies also donated to Brigid’s Path. Brigid’s Path is a newborn recovery center for babies that are born to addicted mothers. We donated money and they used it to buy supplies, like clothing for babies’ baby care items and personal hygiene products for the moms.

In addition, Plus Technologies donated to St Vincent DePaul: Donated socks, hats, gloves, hand sanitizer and personal care items to be given to people that come into their center that are homeless.
