August 20, 2018, Dayton, Ohio – A $700M Dealer Management Software provider (DMS) serving the automotive dealer market has embedded OM Plus i-Sat software into its SaaS (software as a service) solution to manage the printing in various dealer office locations. This Plus Technologies customer has been using the i-Sat software add-on for secure delivery of output from its central server to dealer locations across the US.
The organization sells its Dealer Management System (DMS) software and services to thousands of dealers across North America. By integrating OM Plus i-Sat with their core systems in their data centers, they can securely deliver documents to dealers over the internet without the need for complicated or expensive VPN solutions.
OM Plus i-Sat is a print solution focused on improving print security. It is ideal for organizations that need to print from centralized EMR, ERP, SaaS environment, and other systems to remote sites such as satellite offices, affiliate organizations, business partners, and home offices. With i-Sat software, the end user is not required to leave their current browser-based UI to print documents from their SaaS application.
In the past, users in remote sites commonly used VPN’s to access host systems, retrieve work-related documents, download them, and print them out to a local printer. There is an inherent security risk involved with VPN technologies. VPN access allows users to become virtual members of the host system, allowing access to system capabilities and exposes the network to potential security threats. In some cases, these remote users may not even be organic employees of the organization. Since these business partners or affiliates are not part of the organization, there is no way to ensure their systems do not contain harmful malware and viruses.
